Like it or not, the first two ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS made tons of money in the U.S. box-office alone. The first movie, released in 2007, bagged $217.3 million. The second movie, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL, released two years later, has grossed $219.6 million. So it's no surprise that the third installment was immediately greenlit. And here it is -- ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED, which is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2011. Check out the trailer below.
