Hollywood actress Megan Fox has headed off reports suggesting she had made shallow remarks about her good looks in a recent French magazine interview, insisting her quotes were lost in translation.

The "Transformers" star was subjected to harsh criticism after excerpts of her interview with Jalouse magazine were translated into English by American media outlets, Contactmusic reported.

The 25-year-old beauty was quoted as saying, "(I) live well with my image. I cannot complain. I would not trade my place with an unattractive girl."

But after the backlash over her comments, Fox took to her Facebook account on March 30 to defend her name and set the record straight.

"Before this starts to circulate and spin into something else I want to address a `quote` that has started to run from an interview I did with a French magazine called Jalouse. The quote reads `I wouldn`t trade my place with an unattractive girl` Sigh.

"The actual comment, the context and it`s intention are grossly distorted and misrepresented here. I gave this interview in English obviously, it was then translated to French and now back into English. I`ve never made vapid self serving comments and in contradiction am uncontrollably self deprecating," she posted.

The actress has told friends that she is desperate to start a family with husband Brian Austin Green and is willing to put her movie career on hold to make her dream come true.

“Megan is very broody right now. She always said she would wait to start a family but with Brian in his late thirties and her career back on track she feels it might happen sooner rather than later,” showbizspy.com quoted a source as saying.

“Megan has matured a lot in recent years and she would make a great mother,” the source added.
