With THE HUNGER GAMES is still making enormous box-office impact around the world, a lot of people are already eagerly awaiting the following chapter of THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy, which is of course, CATCHING FIRE. However, it looks like director Gary Ross won't be returning for CATCHING FIRE after he has officially exited the franchise and formally submitting Lionsgate and Summit his notice earlier this week.
Now that Gary Ross has unexpectedly bow out of the sequel, the studio is expecting to find an immediate replacement soon. Despite the setback, CATCHING FIRE is scheduled to shoot this fall and will open on November 22, 2013.
