Shah Rukh as 'Jawaharlal Nehru' in His Next Movie

Hollywood filmmaker Bruce Beresford has expressed a desire to make a biopic on India’s social reformist and Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and if sources are to be believed, the Oscar nominated filmmaker has roped in Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to play the iconic leader’s father Jawaharlal Nehru’s role on screen.

The filmmaker is currently in India to research more about the life of Indira Gandhi. The filmmaker has not yet decided any female actor to cast for Indira’s role. Perhaps, one of the official spokesperson of the filmmaker has confirmed that the filmmaker is keen to have King Khan in his film.

The filmmaker by using few advanced technologies has even tried morphing Shah Rukh’s face with legendary reformer’s face and he is satisfied with the output. Conversely, Srk has not yet confirmed anything on his side.

Kareena and Priyanka to come together for SRK

SRK has once again managed to do something which only he can do. Yes, he is bringing together arch rivals Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra on stage to perform with him at an Eid event in Dubai. Together would be music maestros Hariharan and Shankar Mahadevan. This five day long event in Dubai will have everything for entertainment right from adventure sports, shopping to leisure activities.
Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are known for their ugly spats and catfights. In fact, the two actresses never share formal greetings with each other at award functions or other events. However, they have agreed to come together this time as both of them are awaiting the release of their mega projects- Kareena Kapoor in Ra.One and Priyanka Chopra in Don 2.

You Will Have To Wait More For Dhoom 3

Aamir Khan’s current schedule has him shooting for director Reema Kagti’s next film, getting in shape for Dhoom 3 and ideating for his much-awaited talk show, being produced by Siddharth Basu’s Big Synergy on the lines of the Oprah Winfrey show.
But news is that he is trying hard to juggle dates between shooting episodes for his TV debut and Dhoom 3.
Incidentally, the Yash Raj production has already been delayed, thanks to papa-to-be Abhishek Bachchan.
Says a source, “Yash Raj is very particular about their shoot dates; they don’t really juggle things around. They are now working with Aamir on a schedule that is conducive to both.”
However, buzz is that the actor is putting all his energies in the pre-production of the talk show.
Adds the source, “This is Aamir’s first time on television and he obviously wants nothing to go wrong. He is looking into every little detail of the show.
There are many short-films and documentaries that are part of the format, so there are a lot of elements to be looked into.”
Apparently, Aamir has roped in his Delly Belly composer Ram Sampath to give music for the documentaries that will be aired as part of the show. What’s more, perfectionist Khan will not just be personally supervising the edits, but apparently will also rope in friends from the industry to make guest appearances on the show.
Aamir is scheduled to start shooting for his TV show in September, the first of 20 plus episodes he is expected to do. It is expected to go on air in January next year.
And since his next film with Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor is also expected to release around the same time, don’t be surprised if you see a parallel publicity strategy for the both by the superstar.

The best films made on Patriotism in India

Well, Independence day is almost here and i have decided to pick out five films that made me think that i have a responsiblity towards my country and make me feel patriotic.I am not a great film critic and doesn't watch that too many films.I have seen films in three indian languages and they are Hindi,Tamil and Malayalam, and my opinions would be based on the films i have seen in these languages.

Om Prakash Mehra's 'Rang De Basanti' stands out as one of the best films ever made in India and also one of the best patriotic films ever made.The film has an excellent storyline with an extrordinary script and a perfect cast who gave terrific performances.The film starts of with a bunch of Youngster's who is carefree about what is going on around them and awaken's when injustice happens to one of them and decides to teach the government a lesson with their protest.The film had a huge cast with Aamir Khan,Madhavan,Siddharth,Kunal Kapoor,Sharman Joshi,Atul Kulkarni,Soha Ali Khan and Alice Pattern.The film connects the independence era with the modern era, when the characters they played for the documentary by Alice Pattern happens in real life.The film had music by Music maestro AR Rahman and had some great songs like 'Rang De Basanti' and 'Luka Chuppi'.The film is a must watch, If you haven't seen yet.

Swades, We the people.

Swades is another film that moved me a lot and maybe a lot of people.The film was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker back in 2004 and had Shahrukh Khan in the lead role.The film had a relatively small cast but had a very excellent script and music.The film is about Mohan Bhargava an NRI who lives in the US and works for NASA,After 12years in the US,He decides to come on a vaccation to India to visit his nanny 'Kaveri Amma'.He soon falls in love with the surroundings and its people and feels for the people in distress.He decides to help the people of the village by making a hydro-electric plant to generate electricity.After he returns to US,he realizes how much he misses being back in India and then quits his job and comes back to India.This is an excellent film and makes you wonder how great an actor Shahrukh Khan is.

There is no list without a Mani Ratnam movie,Though Mani Ratnam has made other movies on Patriotism like Dilse and Bombay,Roja just stands out with its music and story line.No wonder why the film was remade into many languages other than the original Tamil version.The film was the debut of AR Rahman and was listed among TIME magazine's 10 best soundtracks of all timeThe film stars Aravinda Swami and Madhoo in the lead roles.Rishi Kumar played by Aravinda Swamy is kidnapped by Terrorists in Kashmir and his wife Roja played by Madhoo pleads to the government and politicians to free her husband.The film also throws some light on the Terrorism in the Jammu and Kashmir.The cinematography,music and the plot makes this film stand out from the rest.

Lakshya is a film directed by Farhan Akthar which stars Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles.The film proved what Hrithik is really capable of with a mind blowing performance as 'Karan Shergil',at first Karan is shown as a care free person who doesn't even care about his future and happens to apply for the army on seeing his friend apply.The first half shows his struggle at the army and in the second half another Hrithik is presented before you, a very responsible Army officer.The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan as Hrithik's higher officer.The film has a very good plot which makes it a must watch.

Chak de! India again is a film starring Shahrukh Khan as an ex-hockey player 'Kabir Khan' who unfortunately has to take blame for a loss in the world championship final match against Pakistan.He is criticised heavily by the Indian media and are forced to move out of his ancestral home by angry neighbours,Seven years later he returns to coach the Indian women's hockey team and leads them to win the Hockey World Championship.The same people who criticised him earlier praises him for his achivement and he moves in back to his home.An amazing film, Must watch.This is Shahrukh Khan's best performance till date according to me.

Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One Is 150 Minutes Long?

Bigger the star, bigger the expectation. Bigger the expectation, bigger the scale. And bigger the scale, larger the duration. This is what Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One promises when it gets ready to arrive this Diwali. To justify hundreds of crores that have been pumped into the making of this Anubhav Singh directed film, the running length of Ra. One too would be good enough to give audience a complete ‘paisa vasool’ experience.
“Though the current trend is to make films last not more than two hours, Ra.One would be an exception. It would be a two and a half hour spectacle as Shah Rukh as well as Anubhav believe that there is a lot to be told, something that the audience should not be deprived of, especially since expectations have been sky high”, says a source attached to the film.
The only other film in the recent times which has actually clocked 150 minutes is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and it has turned out to a good success. Even Singham is much longer than two hours and audience don’t seem to mind those extra minutes presenting an overdose of action. On the other hand, one of the bigger hits in last few weeks, Delhi Belly, has been the shortest of them all by clocking under 100 minutes.
“At the end of the day, it is also about the kind of genre that you are exploring”, an editor remarks in defence of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer. “Ra.One is the first ever sci-fi film of this scale and setting to have been made in Bollywood. Shah Rukh has pumped over Rs. 150 crores in this film and is still counting. It makes sense to present to audience everything which is special about a new world that has been created here. Even Avatar had lasted 162 minutes.”
Shot for over 125 days, it was only this Monday that Ra.One came to a close with its final schedule lasting for 10 days. While the film was being edited simultaneously over last few months, now comes the challenge of putting everything together in one place and make it a seamless movie watching experience.
“There is so much to be told in Ra.One”, admits Anubhav, “However both Shah Rukh and I are of the opinion that we should be keeping the film’s length under 150 minutes. Of course it’s a struggle to do that but at the end of the day, it’s the film that will dictate its duration rather than vice versa. Now that the film’s shoot is complete, we should know within next fortnight how the theatrical cut will look like.”
Given the fact that we didn’t mind Rajinikanth’s antics that lasted for three hours in Robot, there is no reason why Shah Rukh won’t hold our interest for those two and a half hours.

Sanjay Dutt & Priyanka Chopra Get Gifts From SRK

It has been already reported that Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt will be making a cameo in Shah Rukh’s upcoming film Ra.One. Well, Dutt who willingly did the cameo in the film for free was ‘repaid’ with a thoughtful gift by SRK.
Dutt, whose passion for bikes is well known, received a gift worth approx Rs. 15 lakhs in the form of a high-end Italian cruiser bike from SRK! Speaking about this, Dutt said “I really appreciate what Shah Rukh has done. It’s a thoughtful gesture.”
And that’s not all. Priyanka Chopra shot for Ra.One yesterday, despite it being her birthday. The shoot went on till late night. SRK however, thanked Priyanka in his own sweet way. Since Priyanka loves musical instruments, he gifted an expensive acoustic guitar to the actress, after the shoot.

G.One to do a Batman

King Khan as promised is leaving no stones unturned to make Ra.One as big as he can. After Anubhav Sinha recently canned a schedule in Hyderabad, Ra.One is going to have its final leg of shooting starting from today [Saturday].

And as a part of a rescue act in the film, G.One [King Khan’s character in the film] will shoot for an episode on a bike that will be on the lines of what Batman used for Dark Knight.

While every other super hero have their abilities to do acts which are not possible by humans, G.One in Ra.One has decided to borrow Batman’s bike for the scene, which will be filmed at the end of next week at Filmistan Studios, Goregaon, Mumbai.

The bike has been designed specially for Ra.One and King Khan will be performing dare devil and adrenaline pumping action sequences himself with out using a body-double.

The actor is scheduled to rehearse from today and only after a week practice, he will be performing the concerned sequence. Anaita Shroff Adajania is preparing SRK’s outfit for the action episode.
